Is this a good fellowship for you? Have you ensured your plans include this fellowship meaningfully? Does it make sense as part of your overall trajectory and career plan?

Alignment is key!

Are you a good candidate for this fellowship, and by extension the organization funding the fellowship? Will you contribute in the ways they expect? Do you have something to offer the community in the short- and long-term?

Polish is paramount!

Did you actually answer the questions they asked you? Did you speak to the audience they will involve in the review? Does the entire application show respect for the organization, reviewers, and your candidacy?
