Biography
Concurrently a researcher for NASA, Karina Yager's research focuses on the impacts of climate change in mountain environments. She applies interdisciplinary methods to her research, including remote sensing of land cover and land-use change and the socio-ecological study of high-altitude vegetation, mountain peatland systems and indigenous pastoral communities. Her current research project, funded by NASA-ROSES, is focused on the impact of disappearing tropical glaciers on pastoral agriculture in the Andes of South America.
