The Academic Success and Tutoring Center (ASTC) supports Stony Brook University’s

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at the State University of New York at Stony
Brook was started in 1968 and given the local name of AIM, which is an acronym for
Advancement on Individual Merit. Therefore, the Educational Opportunity Program at
Stony Brook is referred to as the EOP/AIM Program. Full funding for Educational Opportunity
Programs on SUNY campuses was approved by the New York State Legislature in 1970.

Faculty Fellows
The Faculty Fellowship program offers professors the opportunity to develop and implement
creative, innovative, and/or experimental teaching strategies at Stony Brook. By providing
teaching replacement funds per semester (4-semesters, over a two-year period), Faculty
Fellows will be able to dedicate time to honing their pedagogical skills and produce
a polished, peer-reviewed work of scholarship based on their teaching.

Credit Evaluation Services supports incoming transfer students bringing in previous college coursework or test credit, current Stony Brook undergraduates planning to take courses elsewhere and transfer the credit back, first-year students who have taken college-level coursework while in high school, and students submitting standardized test scores, including AP, IB, CLEP, and A-Levels.
