Postdoctoral Professional Development seeks to:
- Foster existing and new professional skills development opportunities for postdocs.
- Support the useful completion of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for postdocs.
- In partnership with graduate programs, the Career Center and other campus partners, enhance resources and opportunities for exploration of a broad range of careers for our postdocs.
- Provide support, advising, and institutional nomination for the development of external fellowships by postdocs.
Professional Development
Postdocs have a number of opportunities for professional development, including regular graduate courses and occasional seminars, workshops, and short courses.
Funding and Awards
A campus nomination process is required for the awards. External Scholarships and Fellowships Advising can be reached for any queries about the upcoming round of nominations.
Memberships
Postdocs at Stony Brook have access to free and discounted memberships in several organizations by virtue of their affiliation here.
