The research program in our department is very broad. We anticipate offering research projects to REU students on experimental, theoretical and computational tracks within the areas of: Accelerator Physics, Astronomy, Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Cosmology, High Energy Physics and Nuclear Physics.

We have concluded the 2023 recruitment. We had over 180 applications and were delighted with the level of interest with the research programs at SBU. Thank you to all the applicants and if you didn’t receive an offer, we hope to receive your application in 2024.

2024 applications will be opened on Dec 1, 2023. 

REU students in our 10-week program will receive a stipend of $6000.
