About the Program

The Fundamentals of Offshore Wind is a 45-hour training program designed to provide a broad introduction to offshore wind in a modular format.

Content for this program has been developed and designed by Stony Brook faculty. In addition, several modules will have developer-led sections to report on in-progress work from the field, case studies, and policy.

Upon completion of the program, students will receive a literacy-based microcredential that can be displayed via a digital badge.

The program was developed with grant support from New York State's Offshore Wind Training Institute. The curriculum was created by the School of Professional Development along with faculty from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Business, and School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences.
