Yasharah Raza is pursuing her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at Stony Brook University. Yasharah was born and raised in the southern United States, and later moved to New York, where she completed high school and went on to attend Stony Brook University for undergrad. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, specializing in Neuroscience from Stony Brook University in 2015. She then continued on to complete her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences concentrating in Physiology & Biophysics. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies, she remained actively involved in both clinical and basic science research. At Stony Brook University Hospital's Labor and Delivery department, Yasharah worked both with patients and behind the lab bench. She contributed to the placental fibrosis project investigating genetic biomarkers for preeclampsia. Yasharah celebrates diversity and, in her free time, she enjoys traveling and learning from different people and cultures. Yasharah would like to pursue translational cancer research in the future, hoping that her findings leave a lasting legacy of scientific excellence.
