    New Pediatric Emergency Expansion

    • Double our capacity for seeing pediatric emergency patients
    • Help us retain and recruit the top pediatric specialists
    • Support our Level I Pediatric Trauma Program
    • Permit the creation of a telemedicine program with community hospitals
    • Facilitate training the next generation of pediatric emergency clinicians and researchers

    Funding and Timeline

    The total budget for this important initiative is $30 million. Of this total, a minimum of $10 million will be generated through philanthropy. The remaining amount will be added to the Hospital capital budget plan. Already more than $5M has been secured from generous community donors. Give today.

    On October 5, 2018, Stony Brook University honored Peter and Nancy Richard and family for their $3.5 million gift to Stony Brook Children's Hospital emergency department expansion by naming the new building’s lobby the "Peter & Nancy Richard Family Foundation Lobby."

    Two Anonymous Donors from Community have donated $2M to expand pediatric emergency services at Stony Brook Children’s.

    Following the Peter and Nancy Richard Family Foundation's $3.5 million lead gift to establish the Pediatric Emergency Expansion Fund, two additional donors have joined the Richard Family, contributing an additional $2 million to the Fund. These donors, who wish to remain anonymous, have brought the Fund past the halfway point of the $10 million fundraising goal.
