About the ASTC
In June 2012, Dr. Charles Robbins, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and Dean of the Undergraduate Colleges, assembled a group of approximately twenty professional staff with the goal of identifying and addressing issues that impact student academic success.
This Academic Success Team was instrumental in initiating the creation of the Academic Success and Tutoring Center (ASTC).
A director and assistant director of the ASTC were selected in the fall of 2013 and have been working to create a centralized location where students can seek support to ensure their academic success.
In the fall of 2014, a physical location for the center was identified and the ASTC established a temporary home in the Psychology B building, room 120. In the near future, the ASTC will be a proud tenant of the new Stony Brook Union.
The ASTC staff encourages your feedback and welcomes the opportunity to provide additional information about the vision for the center. Please feel free to email the ASTC.
