Bio
Dr. Lanxin Jiang is an Assistant Professor at the College of Business at Stony Brook
University. She received her PhD in accounting and information systems from Rutgers
University and joined Stony Brook University in 2025.
Professor Jiang's research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI)
and accounting, with a particular focus on how technologies can improve the effectiveness
and integrity of auditing and financial reporting. Her recent work includes developing
Machine Learning models to detect financial misconduct and improve the validity of
accounting estimates, applying explainable AI to optimize audit partner-client matching,
and exploring the role of emerging technologies in ESG reporting and greenwashing
detection. Professor Jiang's work has been published in top tier journals including The Accounting Review, Accounting Horizons, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, and more. She currently serves on the Editorial Board of Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting.
