Joint Appointments with BNL
Stony Brook and Brookhaven Lab are able to benefit from the exchange of knowledge and expertise made possible through joint appointments. Such appointments typically involve formal arrangements, for example with a fraction of an SBU faculty’s effort assigned at Brookhaven with shared salary funding. Other opportunities exist for guest (non-salaried) appointments between the institutions. Guest appointments enable SBU faculty, postdocs, and student researchers to develop collaborations and access facilities at BNL. BNL researchers also have opportunities for adjunct or non-salaried appointments at SBU.
