Office of Brookhaven National Laboratory Affairs

The Office of Brookhaven National Laboratory Affairs serves as Stony Brook’s primary liaison with Brookhaven National Laboratory.  BNL Affairs coordinates joint activities, manages joint faculty appointments, administers the Seed Grant program, and oversees the shuttle service between the SBU and BNL campuses.  Its mission is to grow the relationship between the two institutions by developing and supporting joint initiatives that bring faculty, students and research staff together in scientific, educational, and intellectual activities.

Given our close proximity to BNL, SBU faculty and students represent the single largest external users of BNL facilities; access to these facilities and to BNL's scientific staff are important for many of Stony Brook's research programs and also for the vitality of the university's academic mission.
