Shirley Strum Kenny, the fourth president of Stony Brook University and its first
woman president, died September 3 in her hometown of McLean, Virginia. She was 92.
Shirley Strum Kenny will be remembered as a visionary leader who helped Stony Brook
become the exceptional institution it is today. Her legacy will endure for generations
to come. The Department of Asian and Asian American Studies extends condolences to
Dr. Kenny's family, friends, colleagues and countless students whose lives she touched
and transformed.

Dr. Hongkyung Kim published the sixth volume of The Analects of Dasan (Oxford University Press) The project started in 2013, and this volume is the last one. There will be an event
to celebrate the completion of the project in Korea.
