Emmi Lu

Senior, Linguistics - TESOL, AMS
Fulbright US Student Program
Throughout her years at Stony Brook, the idea of exploration has underscored her experience. While she entered college as an aspiring math teacher, her decision to explore Linguistics eventually led her to change her major and enroll in the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program. Emmi Lu loves exploring nature through outdoor walks, food through new restaurants, and things to do through different hobbies like ice skating, puzzles, and photography. Now, she is very excited to move on to explore teaching English in a new country.
Emmi is looking forward to experiencing a different educational system in a different country, connecting with a new environment of students, as well as strengthening her approaches to language instruction. Teaching outside of the United States will be an opportunity to learn about different populations of English learners in an exciting place!
Emmi is a part of the University Scholars and is a resident assistant on campus.
