Anuva Wardah
Senior, Political Science and Sociology
Gilman Scholarship
Anuva Wardah is a Political Science and Sociology student at Stony Brook University. She is a research assistant at the Institute for Global Affairs at Eurasia Group, where she contributes to analysis on geopolitical issues. Her work centers on the intersection of technology, governance, and public policy, particularly how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence shape democratic institutions. Anuva has conducted research on AI bias and political behavior and is interested in pursuing a career in policy that bridges research and real-world implementation in both domestic and international contexts.
Through this opportunity, she hopes to deepen her understanding of how culture, language, and political systems intersect in a global context. Studying abroad in Spain will allow her to strengthen her Spanish language skills while engaging directly with a different social and political environment. As someone interested in international policy, she sees this experience as a way to move beyond academic learning and develop a more grounded, comparative perspective, with a particular interest in how European approaches to governance and social policy differ from those in the United States.
She is most looking forward to fully immersing herself in a new cultural and linguistic environment. She is excited to improve her Spanish through daily interaction and to experience firsthand how social and political life operates in Spain. Beyond the classroom, she hopes to engage with local communities, explore different perspectives, and challenge her own assumptions, as this experience will help her become more adaptable and globally aware while pursuing a career in international policy and global affairs.
Anuva is a part of the Deans Students Leadership Council
