Foreign Services Fellowship
Nationally competitive fellowships to fund a Master's degree in a field related to
international studies and provide a path to a career in diplomacy.
Interested students may apply for these opportunities in early fall of their senior
year or alumni the year before they intend to enroll in graduate school. A campus
nomination is not required, but prospective applicants are encouraged to consult with
External Fellowships well in advance of the deadline if seeking assistance.
Each of these programs has its own unique focus and eligibility requirements, so please
review the information below to see which might be the best fit for your educational
and professional goals.
Fellowship Programs
Funding for a two-year Master’s degree in fields related to the U.S. Foreign Service (see program website for details), two internships, and appointment as a Foreign Service Officer upon successful completion of the program.
Eligibility:
- Graduating seniors or recent alumni planning to enter a two-year Master's program related to the U.S. Foreign Service
- Fields related to the U.S. Foreign Service (see program website for details)
- U.S. citizens
- 3.2 GPA or higher
- Commitment to future employment with the U.S. Foreign Service
