Foreign Services Fellowship

Nationally competitive fellowships to fund a Master's degree in a field related to international studies and provide a path to a career in diplomacy.
Interested students may apply for these opportunities in early fall of their senior year or alumni the year before they intend to enroll in graduate school. A campus nomination is not required, but prospective applicants are encouraged to consult with External Fellowships well in advance of the deadline if seeking assistance.

Fellowship Programs

Funding for a two-year Master’s degree in fields related to the U.S. Foreign Service (see program website for details), two internships, and appointment as a Foreign Service Officer upon successful completion of the program. 

Eligibility:

  • Graduating seniors or recent alumni planning to enter a two-year Master's program related to the U.S. Foreign Service
  • Fields related to the U.S. Foreign Service (see program website for details)
  • U.S. citizens
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Commitment to future employment with the U.S. Foreign Service
