Current VIP Students
The long-term nature of VIP projects provides students with the opportunity to grow as a team member, make substantial contributions, and rise through the ranks of team leadership. Working with your team through consecutive semesters, you will grow academically and professionally as you reach a common goal.
Registration:
You must register for your one-hour VIP team meeting (VIP 295, 395, 495, 595, or 695) each Fall and Spring term or you will be removed and required to reapply for membership. After completion of VIP 295 in your initial term, you may register for either VIP 295 or 395 in your second term. After completing VIP 395, you may take VIP 495. The main distinction is that registration in the higher level courses requires you to lead, mentor newer students, and leverage your experience on the team to increase your productivity. You will find personalized registration information for next term in the VIP Portal.
Time Conflicts:
You should make every attempt to schedule your courses to avoid a time conflict with your regular team meeting. In unavoidable cases, veteran team members may request approval for a time conflict by completing the Time Conflict Approval Form. New team members are not permitted to have a conflict with their team meeting.
VIP Portal:
You must login in to the VIP Portal a least twice each semester to complete peer evaluations. You will be able to review your feedback immediately after each peer evaluation window closes. Additionally, if your teams is utilizing the VIP Notebook feature, your will be able to login to document in your work and receive feedback on your documentation activity. New features will be added periodically to facilitate and promote your work.
Grading:
All VIP courses are letter graded, based one-third on documentation of work, one-third on personal accomplishments and contributions to the team, and one-third on teamwork and interaction. Please review the Generic VIP Syllabus for learning objectives, rubrics and expectations. Your team will either operate under the unmodified generic syllabus or share a tailored version at the begin of each term.

| VIP 395 | Intermediate Multidisciplinary Project | Students participate in a multi-term, multidisciplinary project, working with team members ranging from first-year students through seniors and graduate students. Projects are advised by one or more faculty on topics of research, design, innovation and entrepreneurship. While a project is framed within a faculty member's area of expertise, contributions are needed from a diverse array of disciplines. This course is intended for intermediate team members or students who have working knowledge of the project topic. Students are expected to maintain involvement with the same project team for multiple terms. This course may be repeated for a maximum of 3 credits. | VIP 495 | Advanced Multidisciplinary Project | Students participate in a multi-term, multidisciplinary project, working with team members ranging from first-year students through seniors and graduate students. Projects are advised by one or more faculty on topics of research, design, innovation and entrepreneurship. While a project is framed within a faculty member's area of expertise, contributions are needed from a diverse array of disciplines. This course is intended for advanced team members with two or more semesters of experience on the same project. Students are expected to maintain involvement with the same project team for multiple terms. This course may be repeated for a maximum of 5 credits. | VIP 496 | Advanced Multidisciplinary Project Practicum | This course is a supplement to VIP 495 for team members wishing to commit more effort towards their multidisciplinary project. Students who enroll in 1-credit of VIP 495 may register for up to 2-credits of VIP 496 in a semester for a maximum of 3 VIP credits. This course may be repeated for a maximum of 10 credits. | Co-requisite: VIP 495 | 1 or 2 credits |
| VIP 595 | Graduate Multidisciplinary Project | Students participate in a multi-term, multidisciplinary project, working with team members ranging from first-year students through seniors and graduate students. Projects are advised by one or more faculty on topics of research, design, innovation and entrepreneurship. While a project is framed within a faculty member's area of expertise, contributions are needed from a diverse array of disciplines. This course is intended for master’s students who can take a leadership role in a project subtask. Students are expected to maintain involvement with the same project team for multiple terms. | VIP 596 | Multidisciplinary Project Leadership | This course is a supplement to VIP 595 for team members wishing to commit more effort towards their multidisciplinary project. Students who enroll in 1-credit of VIP 595 may register up to 2-credits of VIP 596 in a semester for a total of three credits. | VIP 695 | Multidisciplinary Project Leadership | Students participate in a multi-term, multidisciplinary project, working with team members ranging from first-year students through seniors and graduate students. Projects are advised by one or more faculty on topics of research, design, innovation and entrepreneurship. While a project is framed within a faculty member's area of expertise, contributions are needed from a diverse array of disciplines. This course is intended for doctoral students whose dissertation research is directly related to a project led by his or her faculty advisor. Students registered for this course will take a leadership role and assist the faculty advisor in management of the team. May be repeated for credit.
