Furniture Orders: General Guidelines

• Approved Sources for Purchasing Furniture (in Order of Priority)
  
  1. NYS Preferred Source Corcraft
     • Catalog is located at: https://corcraft.ny.gov/
     • To determine if a release is recommended, contact:

       • SBU Procurement at 2-6071
  2. Office of General Services (OGS)
     • Holds dozens of furniture contracts with reputable manufacturers and dealers.
     • The furniture is designed for commercial and educational use.
     • You are not required to obtain three (3) quotes as this has already been bid out and is on Contract.
  3. Consortia, Minority or Woman Owned Business (MWBE’s), Service-Disabled Veterans (SDVOB) and SUNY Contracts
     • Widely accepted and can help expedite your furniture purchase.
  4. Open Market
     •  Furniture requests over $2,500.00 require three (3) quotes.
• Furniture Ordering Guidelines for State and RF Funds
  1. Submit separate Requisitions for each Furniture Manufacturer.
  2. Use the WolfMart Service Request Form
  3. Select Buyer Commodity Code:  "Furniture: Office, Dormitory, Laboratory, Etc."
• New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Furniture Contract
  
  1. Furniture Contracts with discounted pricing are available through the Office of General Services (OGS).
  2. Each manufacturer has its own list of authorized dealers.
  3. Because furniture is custom‑made, returns are not permitted.
  4. Some items are available for quick shipment. Please request quick‑ship options if faster delivery is needed.
• Prevailing Wage
  1. Prevailing Wage is required for any items that are bolted or screwed into the building, such as white boards, bulletin boards, and displays.
• Surplus
  1. Surplus furniture may be available for reuse. Contact Property Control at ext. 2‑6306 to check availability.
  2. If you have surplus furniture, contact Property Control to arrange pickup.
  3. State property cannot be discarded and must be returned to the State.
