Health Screenings and Tables

11:30 am – 12:30 pm in the lobby of the Duke Lecture Hall auditorium. 

  1. Health Screenings (BMI /Blood Pressure /Cholesterol)
    Free health screenings will be offered to help community members understand key health indicators such as body mass index, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels. Participants can receive basic wellness guidance and learn when to follow up with their healthcare provider.
  2. Ellen Hermanson Breast Center
    A member of the Ellen Hermanson Breast Center team will provide education on breast cancer awareness, early detection, and available screening resources. Community members can schedule their next mammography appointment at the table.
  3. Cardiology & Cardiac Rehabilitation
    Information on heart health, SBSH's cardiac rehabilitation program, and ways to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease will be shared. Community members can learn about healthy lifestyle habits and SBSH resources / offerings for managing heart conditions and healthy aging.
  4. Stroke Awareness & Prevention
    Stroke education and prevention resources will be available to help the community recognize warning signs and understand the importance of rapid treatment. The table will also provide guidance on reducing stroke risk through healthy lifestyle choices.
  5. Clinical Nutrition – Food Is Medicine
    Community members will learn how nutrition plays a vital role in healthy aging. They will offer practical tips on healthy eating, nutritional planning, and using food to support overall wellness.
  6. Injury & Fall Prevention
    This table will provide safety education and strategies to help prevent injuries and reduce the risk of falls, especially for older adults. Attendees can learn simple ways to improve balance, mobility, and home safety and receive resources on how to join SBSH's Falls Prevention workshops.
