Philosophy
Education: Ph.D. Stony Brook University (In Progress) • B.A. in Philosophy, Brigham Young University (2025)
Areas of Specialization: Continental Philosophy, Early Modern Rationalism

Before entering the program at Stony Brook, Jackson completed his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University, where he studied philosophy with minors in French, German, and Latin. His interests center on 20th century French philosophy, especially the thought movement sometimes referred to as "post-phenomenology," and he also harbors a strong secondary focus on the early modern continental rationalists. At present, his main figure of interest is Jacques Derrida, whose interview with journalist Antoine Spire he has translated under the title "Beyond the Appearances" (publication forthcoming). He is currently at work on a project tracking the continuity between Derrida’s early “theoretical” and late “political” writings.
Research Interests: Derrida, Leibniz, Ethics, Metaphysics
