Admission Requirements & Application Process

Chemical and Molecular Engineering Accelearted BE/MS Program

The Accelerated BE/MS program enables Chemical and Molecular Engineering (CME) students in good academic standing to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree within five years. Students may apply up to 6 credits of graduate electives (taken during the undergraduate program) toward both degrees, substituting 6 credits of undergraduate specialization coursework. These courses count toward the M.S. in accordance with Graduate School policy; however, only graduate electives (not core courses) may be taken at this stage. The remaining 24 credits are completed during the fifth year to fulfill the 30-credit M.S. requirement.

Admissions Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in the major

  • Apply by the end of the junior spring semester

  • Must be a senior to begin the accelerated program

  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA in the major to transition into the M.S. year
