K-12 Engagement for Workforce Development
Recognizing the imperative of early engagement for the next generation of workers in emerging areas such as renewable energy, AI, advanced manufacturing, and biotechnology, the Office for Research and Innovation hosts field trips for high schools to visit the R&D park. Teachers and their students are able to visit the labs, speak with researchers, engage graduate students about educational pathways, and test hands-on technology. Additionally, workforce development for K-12 is carried out through in-person activities and challenges, such as a Hackathon and wind-building competition.
