NAI-SBU Chapter Annual Meeting CEWIT 2020 Organized by the New York State Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at Stony Brook University, this international conference is a destination for researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs, across borders and disciplines. Last year’s CEWIT2019 conference attracted over 250 industry and academic participants from 4 countries. Over seventeen presenters took the podium in various sessions. Continuing the tradition since the inception of our conference in 2003, CEWIT2020 will be a premier forum for presentations of cutting-edge research as well as the exchange and transfer of emerging technologies and innovative applications. We are expecting renowned speakers, presenters and panelists from industry, academia and government, in a series of plenary presentations and discussions - all for an international audience ready to network! Online Robotics Camp 2020 Hack@CEWIT 2020 The Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) hosted its fourth annual interdisciplinary student hackathon bringing over 150 regional hackers, $40K in industry sponsorship commitments, and over 25 hands-on tech talks and workshops together for a two-day technical challenge awarding over $5K in prizes to the most innovative, most ambitious, most original and most health-conscious project — at Stony Brook University. The main topics were technologies impacting any vertical market. This included but not limited to: security, health-care, machine learning, A.I., blockchain, social impact, IoT, etc. The two-day hack over President’s Day Weekend was designed in conjunction with core industry partners, sponsors, and member entrepreneurs to select scenarios that will have a direct, real-world application to their product portfolios. |

11th Advanced Energy Conference 2019 Hack@CEWIT 2019 Hack@CEWIT '19 takes place at the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT) at Stony Brook University on February 15-17, 2019, Presidents Day Weekend. It is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in colleges and universities across the US and Canada. CEWIT partners with MLH to host the event which features an interactive speaker series; hands-on, deep-dive workshops; industry hacker guru programs; games; multimedia experiences; and opportunities for recruitment with top industry prizes for the most innovative, most ambitious, most original, and most industry-applicable hacks. A hackathon is a design-focused, sprint-like event in which future engineers collaborate intensively on engineering projects over a extremely short period. These events aim to inspire current and future innovators. CEWIT’s industry partners and sponsors will work to select scenarios that will have a direct, real-world application to their product portfolios. This year's hackathon will primarily focus on Machine Learning & AI goals, including Robotics challenges, to advance enterprising student-powered engineering solutions. Entrepreneur at Any Age! You've worked for a while in an area you are very familiar with and have some terrific ideas on improvement. You are working in an area you are restless in - and want to start your own business with great ideas you have collected over the years. CEWIT 2017 Energy Business Opportunities in NY State CIEES and CFES are a part of the New York State (NYS) network of Centers for Advanced Technology (CAT). The goal of this workshop is to enable the New York State energy businesses to learn how to leverage CIEES and CFES resources to boost economic growth in the upcoming energy environment. The workshop will start with a morning session outlining the benefits that an energy CAT could provide to businesses, by showcasing specific examples of successful CAT-industry projects. The afternoon sessions will include a series of panel discussions on current status and opportunities that the evolution of the different energy areas offers. The targeted audience is the NYS businesses, utilities, policymakers and academic faculty. Advanced Energy Center Symposium Series: Offshore Wind Long Island Innovation Boot Camp Since its inception in 2008, the Boot Camp – the Long Island event of the Pre-Seed Workshop (www.preseedworkshop.com), originated by Mark Wilson and Judy Albers – has analyzed over sixty technologies with the help of more than 130 regional professionals, and assisted in the formation of numerous technology start-up companies on Long Island. The Boot Camp’s annual kickoff event is held in conjunction with the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame dinner every March to introduce the technology entrepreneurs of the future to their most successful predecessors. |
