Information for Faculty
Faculty are invited to participate in the Academic Procession. Please note that academic regalia is required for all participants in the Procession. Faculty members who do not wish to participate in the Academic Procession should register under General Admission to obtain an entry ticket.
RSVP and order regalia by Tuesday, March 10.

Ceremony Details
10 am | Robing and Refreshments, Stony Brook Arena, Pritchard Gym
10:45 am | Academic Procession begins
11 am | Investiture Ceremony (approximately 90 minutes)
12:30 pm | Reception, Stony Brook Union
Tickets
Tickets are not required for procession participants.
Guests are welcome to attend and should register for a General Admission ticket. Guests are not permitted in the robing and assembly area.
Regalia Ordering Information
Please note that academic regalia is required for all participants in the Procession. The university will sponsor the fees for Stony Brook regalia rentals for full-time faculty participating in the Procession.
Please visitfacultydirect.herffjones.com to place your regalia order. The deadline to order isTuesday, March 10, 2026.
Rented regalia will be available upon arrival in the assembly area and must be returned there immediately after the ceremony. Faculty who own their regalia from their alma mater are also welcome to wear their own regalia in the Procession.
Academic Procession | Assembly
The Academic Procession assembly will take place in Pritchard Gym, Stony Brook Arena. This area will open at 10 am and light refreshments will be provided.
After parking, please proceed to the Stony Brook Arena main entrance on Toll Drive. Once you have cleared security and bag check, continue to Pritchard Gym for check-in and lineup. University marshals and staff will be available to direct you.
All faculty should be robed and in line by 10:30 am. The Academic Procession will begin moving at 10:45 am, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 11 am.
You are welcome to leave personal items in the secured robing area during the ceremony. Please note that Stony Brook University is not responsible for any lost items. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the procession will return to the robing area. Please collect your belongings before proceeding to the reception.
