Programs for Learners
Build Your Entrepreneurial Skill Set
The Innovation Center offers certificates, competitions, and workshops designed for students and postdocs who want to develop entrepreneurial thinking alongside their academic studies. These programs provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and recognition that help learners stand out, whether they're pursuing a venture of their own or building skills for their future career.
Life Sciences Innovation Certificate
Prepares STEAM graduate students and postdocs for careers in technology ventures and corporate entrepreneurship, combining coursework with hands-on training in translating scientific research into viable products and businesses.
WolfieTank
A campus-wide pitch competition where members of the Stony Brook community showcase their business ideas to a panel of judges, competing for funding, mentorship, and the chance to bring their concepts to life.
Long Island PitchFest
A regional pitch competition connecting Long Island entrepreneurs with experienced mentors, judges, and investors, offering a platform to refine ideas and gain visibility within the region's growing innovation community.
Seminars & Workshops
Ongoing skill-building sessions covering entrepreneurship, innovation, and venture creation, led by faculty and industry practitioners to help learners apply what they study in the classroom to real business challenges.
