Committee Appointment

• Departments must submit the Dissertation Examining Committee Appointment Form to the Graduate School at least 4 weeks before before the defense.
• Departments must submit the Dissertation Announcement at least 3 weeks before the defense.
• Departments must submit the Master's Thesis Committee Appointment Form to the Graduate School by Friday, July 24, 2026.

Applying for Graduation

Wednesday, April 15, 2026

• This is the deadline to apply for graduation and be included in the commencement publication. 
  • Master's and Advanced Graduate Certificate students apply via SOLAR
  • PhD and DMA students can only apply for graduation through Google Form.

Friday, May 8, 2026

• Last day for Master's and Advanced Graduate Certificate students to apply for Spring or Summer graduation through SOLAR.
  • PhD students can only apply for graduation through Google Form.
  • After May 8, 2026, Master's and Advanced Graduate Certificate students can also apply through this form.
  • Graduation applications submitted after Wednesday, April 15, 2026, will not appear in the commencement publication.

Thesis, Dissertation, and Adobe signature Page Submission

Monday, August 17, 2026

• This is the last day for students to file theses/dissertations and Adobe signature pages with the Graduate School.
• Extensions will not be granted.

Final Completion statements

Friday, September 4, 2026

• Departments must submit completion statements for candidates who have completed all their degree requirements by this date.

• This is the last day to enroll before late fees incur and to drop all classes via SOLAR.

• This is the end of late registration via SOLAR and the last day for departments to request an underload for domestic graduate students. International students must contact Visa and Immigration Services to request an underload.

Saturday, February 7, 2026 to Friday, February 13, 2026 at 4:00 PM

• This the course-swapping period which is by petition only.
