Biography

Dr. Forman has served as middle school assistant principal, director of state and federal programs, director of curriculum and instruction, principal, and executive assistant to the superintendent in NYC and Long Island public schools. He is currently the associate director of Educational Leadership Program at Stony Brook University. He is also the author of the texts: Diving into Leadership, Preparing for Educational Leadership 4th Edition, Diving into Data, Managing Social Science Research Through Publicly Accessible Data, School Building Leader and School District Leader TestPrep Virtual Classroom and numerous articles. Some recent articles include:
Strengthening Diversity in School Leadership: A New York State Education Department Grant: Our Experience Explained (NYAPE Journal, Spring 2026) and No Aftermath: A Comparison of Pre and Post Pandemic Assessment Scores for Mathematics and English Language Arts, Grades 3-8 (Journal for Leadership and Instruction-25th Anniversary Edition, 2026). He also serves an educational consultant and an advisor to a New York State Regent. Other affiliations include MCEAP: President, Metropolitan Council of Education Administration Programs; and NYSRSAS: Vice President, New York State Retired School Administrators and Supervisors.
