Dr. Nicolwala is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics who completed his fellowship in Neonatology at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital in 2021. He is currently the Director of the Stony Brook Infant Apnea Program and is leading the effort to introduce Point-of-Care Ultrasound in the NICU. He always had a passion for serving on the front lines, providing care to the sickest children, and guiding parents through the most difficult of times. His research interests include Neonatal Antibiotic Stewardship, Neonatal Sepsis, Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS), and Technology-Driven Innovation to Improve Neonatal Care, Neonatal Care Delivery and Implementation.
