Biography

Charles Begue Fawell is a historian of the global shipping industry, European Empires and their contemporary legacies, and France and its former empire. His research and teaching examine the history of the Europe-Asia shipping corridors that connect the Mediterranean and Red Seas to the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
