Biography

Chaoran studies how AI is changing the ways people write, communicate, and learn, with a particular focus on multilingual writers and students. Her research broadly examines questions such as how people can use AI while maintaining their own voices and linguistic identities, how AI influences literacy practices, and how educators can prepare students to critically navigate an increasingly AI mediated world. Her recent work explores critical AI literacy, AI-assisted language learning, AI and language diversity, and ethical AI in education. Across this work, she seeks to develop new ways of thinking about and working with AI that support personalized learning, agency, and critical engagement.
