Biography
Cameron Jones studies the psychology of AI systems and human-AI interaction: whether people can distinguish AI from humans, what cognitive capacities large language models (LLMs) have, and how these systems persuade, deceive, and manipulate. He directs the CLIC Lab (Cognition, Language, Interaction & Computation) at Stony Brook, which uses methods from cognitive science — including Turing tests, theory of mind tasks, and interactive communication experiments — to understand how LLMs work and the psychological impacts they have on people.
