Biography
Dr. Benz Scott oversees the academic public health programs at Stony Brook University (MPH, MHA, PhD in Population Health and Clinical Outcomes Research, MS in Epidemiology and Clinical Outcomes Research) to train a diverse and highly prepared public health and health care management workforce, as well as the next generation of public health scientists with the skills and passion to conduct impactful research. She supervises a diverse expert faculty of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, behavioral and social scientists who are dedicated to excellence in population health research, teaching, and service to promote improvements in the health of all people – locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. She is the creator and founding director of the Stony Brook Medicine Healthy Libraries Program (HeLP).

Beyond her work at Stony Brook, Dr. Benz Scott currently serves on the Board of Hillel at Stony Brook University and is also an elected member of the Board of the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) the voice of academic public health nationally.
