Dr. Benz Scott leads the academic public health programs at Stony Brook Medicine (MPH,
MHA, PhD in Population Health and Clinical Outcomes Research, MS in Epidemiology and
Clinical Outcomes Research) along with a diverse expert faculty of clinicians, epidemiologists,
biostatisticians, behavioral and social scientists who are dedicated to excellence
in population health research, teach, and service to promote improvements in the health
of Long Islanders as well as communities regionally, nationally, and globally.
Beyond her work at Stony Brook, Dr. Benz Scott currently volunteers to serve on the Long Island Board of Directors of the American Heart Association with an emphasis on community impact initiatives that promote their mission as a relentless force for heart disease and stroke prevention. She also is an elected member of the Ryan White HIV Planning Council of Long Island to address the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS in Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
