Biography
Dr. Mahajan served in the federal government and the private industry in executive positions in scientific and business development roles. He was a technology adviser to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) for National Information Technology Transformation, served overseas, worked in venture capital, and was a Federal Program Manager for geospatial, imagery, and STEM research programs. In addition, he advises the U.S. Government regularly and participates in diplomatic technology events. He currently works as the Director of Special Programs for the Office of Research & Innovation and CEWIT with an appointment in the College of Business (Entrepreneurship) and the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory's Computing and Data Sciences Directorate. Dr. Mahajan is PI for over 10 programs at Stony Brook with industry partners developing technology in the Defense, Medical, and FINTECH areas with main campus and Stony Brook Medicine.
