Our Minors

The Department of English offers three dynamic minors that invite students to explore storytelling across page, stage, and screen. The English Minor provides a strong foundation in literary study, developing students’ skills in critical reading, analytical writing, and interpretation across a range of genres, periods, and cultures. The Film and Screen Studies Minor examines the art and impact of cinema and screen media, encouraging students to analyze visual storytelling, film history, and contemporary media through critical and theoretical perspectives. The Theatre Arts Minor brings literature to life through performance, offering students opportunities to study dramatic texts while exploring acting, production, and the collaborative nature of theatre. All of these minors allow students from any major to deepen their engagement with narrative, creativity, and cultural expression while building valuable communication and analytical skills.
