Student Spotlight- Marissa Rizzuto

Marissa began her academic journey at Suffolk Community College before transferring to the SBU English program. After joining the program, Marissa entered the honors program to pursue original research in the law and humanities. Becoming a URECA (Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities) Scholar, she uncovered court documents from the state archives and created an original transcription of a widely neglected domestic violence case.

Jessica Vestuto is a Stony Brook English BA alum and currently an editor for Mariner Books, a HarperCollins imprint. A former writer for the Stony Brook Press, Jessica has always believed in “the power of the pen.”
