Siyun Wang, '32PhD

Siyun’s research at Stony Brook reflects her passion for advancing power and energy systems through emerging technologies. After earning her master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, she joined Stony Brook University to pursue a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. 

Her research interests include quantum grids and the Internet of Things, current work explores IoT-enabled grid control to improve grid stability and voltage support. Her research was recently recognized through her selection as a Top 5 finalist in the 2026 CIGRE USNC Next Generation Network Paper Competition.

This recognition reflects the impact and promise of her research, and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is proud to see her work gaining recognition on the national stage.
