September 30th - Monica Ferrell
Monica Ferrell is the author of four books of fiction and poetry, including The Future (March 2026) and the collection You Darling Thing (2018), a finalist for the Kingsley Tufts Award and Believer Book Award in Poetry.
Her novel The Answer Is Always Yes (Dial Press/Random House) was named one of Booklist's Top Ten Debut Novels of the
Year. Her first collection of poems, Beasts for the Chase, was a finalist for the Asian American Writers Workshop Prize in Poetry and won the
Sarabande Books Kathryn A. Morton Prize.
She has taught fiction and poetry for the MFA Programs at Columbia University and Bennington College, and is Professor of Creative Writing at Purchase College (SUNY). She was born in Delhi, India, and divides her time between Vermont and New York.
October 7th - Ada Zhang
Ada Zhang is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her short stories have appeared in A Public Space, McSweeney’s, Alaska Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. She was the James C. McCreight Fiction Fellow at the University of Wisconsin and currently teaches at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. The Sorrows of Others is her first book.
November 4th - Jeffrey Renard Allen
Jeffery Renard Allen is the award-winning author of six books of fiction and poetry, including the celebrated novel Song of the Shank, which was a front-page review in both The New York Times Book Review and The San Francisco Chronicle. Allen’s other accolades include The Chicago Tribune's Heartland Prize for Fiction, The Chicago Public Library’s Twenty-First Century Award, the Ernest J. Gaines Award for Literary Excellence, a grant from Creative Capital, a Whiting Writers Award, a Guggenheim fellowship, a NYFA grant. He was a finalist for both the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction. Allen is the Africa Editor for The Evergreen Review. His latest books are the short story collection Fat Time and the memoir An Unspeakable Hope, the latter co-authored with Leon Ford. Allen makes his home in Johannesburg and New York.
