The Community Pledge is a call to action, an invitation; a voluntary choice and opportunity to affirm our commitment to one another. It is not a petition, and not a club.

Taking the pledge demonstrates your commitment to other members of the Stony Brook University community. It says that "We" will stand up for one another. It offers us all a stronger community, a better future.

Throughout the Fall 2020 semester, a committee of students and administrators has been working to revise the Community Pledge so that it reflects Stony Brook University's current commitment to caring, respect, and civility, and, additionally, to anti-racism and maintaining an open and just campus for all Seawolves.  Please check this website in upcoming weeks to read about the revised Community Pledge.

Questions for the committee can be directed to the Office of Multicultural Affairs,, (631) 632-9984.
