Adam DeRosa received his B.S., Biology from Loyola University in 2003, his doctorate in Genetics from the Stony Brook University in 2007 and completed a fellowship in Physiology and Biophysics at SUNY at Stony Brook University in 2008. Dr. DeRosa received his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in New York in 2015, where he was a member of the Law Review. Dr. DeRosa was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2016, is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining Scully, Scott, Murphy & Presser in January 2013, Adam worked as a licensing associate in the Intellectual Property Partners at Stony Brook University for the Research Foundation for The State University of New York, where he obtained expertise in complex licensing negotiations, contract drafting, the procurement of patents, and IP litigation.

Dr. DeRosa has technical expertise in genetics, biotechnology, cellular and molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, physiology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, medical imaging, material sciences, and pulmonary medicine and is experienced in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, as well as the negotiation of drafting license agreements in the related sciences. Dr. DeRosa also has experience in opinion drafting, including contract compliance, patent validity and infringement opinions, and freedom-to-operate opinions.

Dr. DeRosa has published 10 scientific manuscripts in various medical journals and a text book chapter on human genetic disease. Dr. DeRosa is a member of the ABA, AIPLA, Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and the Licensing Executives Society (LES). In 2017, Dr. DeRosa was inducted into the National Academy of Inventors as an Honorary Member.
