Responsibilities & Requirements
The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor will utilize televideo technology to diagnose
and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders within outpatient
settings. Telepsychiatrist will provide a full range of psychiatric services via televideo
technology to assigned patients, including: assessment, screening, diagnosis, and
treatment of patients and determining the degree of disabilities in patients. Psychiatrist
will prescribe medication to patients as deemed necessary and will conduct medication
management. Additional services include the prescription, direction, and administration
of psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral
disorders, and the ongoing collaboration with physicians, psychologists, social workers,
psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
Participation in treatment team activities to include the development and periodic
review of patient treatment plans. All services are to be documented in the patient's
electronic medical record. This position will operate out of the Psychiatry Outpatient
Clinic as well as the Emergency Department.
Some travel will be required for on-site visits to Southampton Hospital.
Special Notes This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime
provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
