Dentist
Required Qualifications
- DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited institution or equivalent foreign degree.
- Completion of an advanced training program in Pediatric Dentistry (at time of hire)
at a CODA accredited institution.
- A New York State (NYS) dental license, or eligibility for such license.
- A NYS moderate sedation certificate or eligibility and be eligible/certified by the
American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experiences and involvement in research and scholarly activities.
- Experience in hospital dentistry is highly desirable.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Participation in faculty practice is encouraged.
- Clinical and didactic teaching of predoctoral and postgraduate students in pediatric
dentistry.
- Community outreach and administrative duties.
- Appointment will be required at Stony Brook University Hospital.
Special Notes
Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions
of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience.
To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet
the criteria established by the School of Dental Medicine. Anticipated State Date: As soon as possible.
