Assistant Professor

Required Qualifications

 The candidate should have a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering though a degree in related field may be considered. Two years of postdoctoral experience. Demonstrated record in publications.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research with areas of expertise in biomedical and tissue engineering, nanotechnology, sustainability, energy research, computational modeling, and other strategic areas that complement ongoing research in the Department and in the Engineering-driven Medicine research thrust at Stony Brook University.

Responsibilities & Requirements

 The selected candidate is expected to:

  • Teach both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Participate in course and curriculum development.
  • Establish an independent research program.
  • Participate in Department and University committees.

Special Notes

 This is a tenure track position.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2020.
