Practice Challenge Exams:

Chinese Challenge Exam
The remote-proctored, online Chinese challenge exam is offered 4 times per year. Each of the 4 exam sessions are 3-6 weeks in duration. The exam cost is $77/credit.

Hindi challenge exams are administered individually on a date agreed upon by the proctor and the student during the fall and spring semesters. All matriculated students are eligible to take the Hindi challenge exam to earn the SBC [LANG]. This challenge exam costs $50. If you pass the exam, you will not receive credits on your transcript, however you will receive the SBC for [LANG]. In some cases and with permission, students can challenge HIN courses for transcript credits.

The Japanese Challenge Exam is administered on a case by case basis. Appointments are scheduled during the fall and spring academic semesters when registration is confirmed. The fee is $77.00

The online, remote-proctored Korean Challenge Exam is offered for an approximately one-month period during the fall and spring semesters and the winter and summer academic sessions (4 exam sessions per calendar year).

The Filipino (Tagalog) Challenge Exam is administered on a case by case basis. It costs $50 to meet Stony Brook's language proficiency requirement (LANG). Appointments are scheduled during the fall and spring academic semesters when registration is confirmed. Please email llrc@stonybrook.edu for instructions.
