(for Stony Brook Undergraduates only)

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute Undergraduate Research Fellowship program provides support for high-achieving students engaged in research in the biological sciences at Stony Brook.
Eligibility
These awards are open to undergraduate students who will be enrolled in biological
research with a Stony Brook faculty member for the summer. It is the responsibility of the student to contact a faculty
member for this purpose.
Awards
Awards are made for the summer; recipients receive a $2500 stipend and ten-weeks room and board plus $500 for supplies for the laboratory in which they
do their research.
Applications
Applications include a one-page description of the student's research project,
two letters of recommendation from faculty, and college transcripts.
The deadline for applications is March 2.
A committee consisting of faculty members in the biological sciences will select the students within one week of the deadline.
