Wolfie Wallet is a campus prepaid declining balance debit account encoded on your campus ID. It is a safe and convenient way to make purchases from on and select off-campus merchants, make purchases from campus stores such as SBU Campus Store or FedEx in the Melville Library, mail packages in the residential mailroom, and utilize print and copy services. Wolfie Wallet is different from the Meal Plan.
It is:
- Accepted at more locations
- Refundable
It is NOT:
- Exempt from New York State sales tax
- Billable to your Student Account (SOLAR)
- Payable directly by Financial Aid
Funds can be added to your Wolfie Wallet through any of the following ways:
- You can add funds with a credit card online. A $20 minimum deposit is required online and funds should be available within 30 minutes. Please note that at this time, funds cannot be billed to your student account.
- You can add as little as $1 in cash at a time through the Cash-to-Account machines. See list of locations below.
By adding funds to your ID card, you agree to receive email notifications regarding your Wolfie Wallet plan.

It is your choice!
If you are confident that you will use all of the funds you add by the end of the semester, adding funds to your meal plan can help you save money, as all student meal plans are tax-exempt. However, meal plan funds are non-refundable and must be used in full by the designated meal plan end date.
For more information on meal plans, visit our Meal Plan website.
However, if you are too busy to track your meal plan balance, Wolfie Wallet is a better choice. Wolfie Wallet purchases are not sales tax-exempt, but the funds you add will not have an end date and will rollover until you graduate or withdraw from the University.
Yes, Wolfie Wallet will roll over from semester to semester until you graduate or withdraw from the University.
If your Wolfie Wallet account is inactive for a period greater than 24 months, the account will be closed and balances are surrendered to a student engagement scholarship fund.
If your balance is $20 or more and you are withdrawing, graduating, or no longer working at Stony Brook University, please email mealplan@stonybrook.edu.

Lost Cards
If you lost your ID card, please visit the Stony Brook University Campus Card Office at the Stony Brook Union, Suite 207.
To safeguard students’ meal plan accounts, cashiers are not permitted to key in ID numbers without a photo ID. Lost cards must be replaced within 72 hours.
To prevent others from obtaining meals and charging them against a student’s account, lost ID cards must be immediately reported via the GET Mobile website or app.
How To Report a Card Lost on the GET Mobile website or mobile app:
- Log in to GET Mobile using your NET ID and NET Password
- On a desktop device: in the Quick Links menu on the right of the page, click "I lost my card" and follow the prompts
- On a mobile device: in the Quick Links menu towards the bottom of the page, click "I lost my card" and follow the prompts
- On the GET Mobile app: tap Settings in the bottom menu and click "Report card as lost" and follow the prompts
NOTE: When you report your card lost, it will put a hold on all of your accounts (Meal Plan and Wolfie Wallet).
Replacing Lost, Stolen or Damaged Campus ID Cards
In the event you need to replace your student ID card, please contact the Campus Card office.
If your ID card is lost, damaged, or no longer functions and is less than four years old, a $25 replacement fee will apply. Please note that this fee will apply to cards that do not appear visibly damaged, as the Campus Card Office cannot attest to what stresses were placed on the card that caused it to malfunction. Our ID cards are designed to last at least four years under normal use and conditions.
There will be no charge for a new ID card related to the following:
- A name change
- A title change
- The first ID card issued
- A replacement for an expired ID card related to employment
