A thriving living-learning community
As first-year students, Yardi Scholars are encouraged to live in the Roosevelt Community where they can build community and foster friendships. Living and learning communities are proven to help facilitate transitions to university life.
First-Generation Student Experience and Support
Nearly 40% of Stony Brook University students are first generation college students. As the first in their family to attend college, Yardi Scholars are supported in a holistic manner with intentional programming to support your college experience. Being first is something to be proud of and we will have workshops, events, and activities to help understand and leverage your identity as a first-generation college student including study skills & academic success development as well as mentorship opportunities.
Leadership Dinners and Networking Opportunities
Yardi Scholars will have the opportunity to meet with leadership from the University Honors Program, College of Business, University officials, faculty, staff and alumni to foster meaningful relationships. Leadership dinners will give students the time to meet with leaders, learn more about them, and practice networking. Yardi Scholars will also have opportunities to network with top-tier business executives and campus leaders.
