University Scholars encourages students to engage with the program in ways that support
academic excellence, leadership, service, personal growth, and community. Each semester,
Scholars are expected to participate in a designated number of Scholars engagement
opportunities and complete the required reflection form or essay, thoughtfully reflecting
on what you learned, experienced, or took away from the opportunity. (Attendance alone
does not fulfill the requirement.)
🔹 Continuing Scholars:
Earn credit by participating in at least one eligible Scholars event or engagement
opportunity per semester.
🔹 First-Year, First-Time Scholars and Newly Admitted Current Students:
Participate in at least two eligible Scholars events or engagement opportunities during
their first semester.
What Counts as a Scholars Engagement Opportunity?
🔹 Only events and opportunities marked with a * on the Scholars event calendar count
toward the semester engagement requirement.
🔹 Engagement opportunities may include program events, scholars leadership roles, workshops, and other opportunities designed to support your Scholars experience.
🔹 We encourage you to choose opportunities that are meaningful to you and connect
with your interests, goals, and areas of growth.
How to Receive Credit
To receive credit for your participation:
🔹 Arrive on time and participate for the full duration of the event or opportunity
(unless otherwise indicated).
🔹 Submit the Scholars Reflection Form within one week of participating.
