Subject: Join Us for Homecoming Week!

Dear Seawolves,

It is Homecoming Week and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate what makes our Seawolf community so special: coming together, showing our Seawolf pride and cheering on our team! This week is packed with events that bring out our school spirit, build connections, and remind us how much fun it is to be a Seawolf! To view the full schedule of events, check out the Homecoming for Students page

  • On Tuesday, October 21 at 5 pm, dive into some mystery and excitement at the Homecoming Murder Mystery event in SAC Ballroom B.

  • On Friday, October 24, get ready for an evening full of Seawolf Pride! Kick things off at Soberfest starting at 4:30pm at the Union patio, then head to the 15th Annual Seawolves Showcase at 7pm at the Stony Brook Arena to experience incredible Seawolf talent.

  • The celebration continues Saturday, October 25! Tailgate with your friends and cheer for the Seawolves at the Homecoming football game at 3:30pm in LaValle Stadium (undergraduate students get in for free!). Don’t forget to wear RED and bring in the noise! Keep the fun going after the game at Spooky Brook in the SAC for Halloween-themed festivities.

  • On Sunday, October 26, join the annual Wolfie Dash 5K Run/Walk. Line-up begins at 9:00am in front of the SB Union. Kick off at 9:30am sharp, rain or shine.

Don’t Miss Out! Homecoming Game Giveaways

As an added bonus, there will be several exclusive giveaways happening at the football game that you do not want to miss:

  • FREE on-campus housing for Spring 2026: open to SBU undergraduate and graduate students attending the game; one winner will be selected through a random drawing. You must be present at the game to win!

  • FREE in-state tuition for Spring 2026: open to undergraduate students only. Four students will be randomly selected and contacted by text to compete on the field at LaValle Stadium, where they will race from the 50-yard line to the end zone — inside bumper balls — and the first to cross the finish line wins.

  • $1,500 giveaway: open to graduate students only; eligibility will be contingent on the student being a graduate student enrolled in a Master's or PhD program and in good academic standing. One winner will be selected through a random drawing.

  • Limited edition T-shirts and thundersticks for the first 500 students.

Stay Safe and Take Care of Each Other

Homecoming is a time when our pride, spirit, and sense of community are at their best. As we celebrate, let’s remember to stay safe and look out for one another:

  • Celebrate responsibly and know your limits. Homecoming is about school spirit and connecting with friends, not overindulging in alcohol. Drinking too much, too fast can turn a great day into a dangerous one. Remember that the minimum legal drinking age in the United States is 21.

  • Stay aware of your surroundings and make safe choices. Whether you’re at a tailgate, a game, or an event, be mindful of where you are and who you’re with. Trust your instincts if something doesn’t feel right. If you feel unsafe, call University Police at (631) 632-3333.

  • Look out for your friends and step in if someone needs help. Small actions such as checking in, making sure no one is left alone, or calling for support are important steps to ensure everyone is safe.

  • Don’t hesitate to seek assistance if a situation becomes unsafe. If someone shows signs of alcohol poisoning — difficulty staying awake, vomiting, slow or irregular breathing, or being unresponsive — call University Police at (631) 632-3333 for help immediately.

  • Know about the Good Samaritan Policy. Stony Brook has a Good Samaritan Policy. If you or someone else is in an alcohol or drug-related emergency, students who act in good faith and call for help may not face University sanctions for violations of alcohol/drug policies.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Let’s make this Homecoming one to remember. Go Seawolves!

Sincerely,
