Stony Brook University Department of Psychology

The Stony Brook University Department of Psychology was founded in 1960 and is one of the university’s largest and strongest programs.

The Department offers two undergraduate degrees, a BA and a BS in psychology, a terminal MA in psychology, and doctoral degrees in four areas of psychology: Cognitive ScienceClinical Psychological ScienceIntegrative Neuroscience, and Social & Health Psychology.

The Psychology Department is a highly ranked department, whose faculty are distinguished, well-funded, and productive scholars.   • All of Psychology’s PhD offers of admission include a stipend and tuition scholars. To receive full consideration for additional fellowships, domestic applicants to the Cognitive Science and Integrative Neuroscience Programs should submit by 12/15.
