About Malea Parker
Student Assistant (2026-)
Malea is a senior Economics major at Stony Brook University and a team leader of the
Commuter Student Association Street Team. She has always been drawn to the relationship
between language, culture, and commerce, particularly the ways language can shape
how we communicate, think, and participate in a global economy. That curiosity has
also shaped her interests in research, journalism, and film, where she is often interested
in the stories behind the ideas. Outside of school, she loves to volunteer, travel
and read, both of which have become some of her favorite ways to encounter new perspectives.
She is excited to bring those interests with her as she interns with MIC.
